March is National Reading Month and it's all about children's literature. The first kids books teachers or homeschool parents usually think of are fiction. But what about non-fiction books? Don't forget the many awesome non-fiction kids books--and for Pi Day on March 14, how about the funny kids books from Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith--"Science Verse","Math Curse" and "Squids will be Squids." This dynamic duo spawned a genre of children's literature called fractured fairy tales, with "The True Story of the Three Little Pigs" and their Caldecott Honor Book "The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales." Old folks will remember "Fractured Fairy Tales" from the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show.  Free printable Math Curse lesson plans, Science Verse learning activities | Examiner.com
